Vitapruf has a good Buddy - Vitapruf coated fabrics
The world famous ‘Buddy’ brand of diving gear relies on coated fabrics from Vitapruf. Buddy buoyancy control jackets (BCDs) allow divers to control their position in the water by letting air in and out of the air sacks in the jacket. That means the jacket is key to the diver’s safety and must be ultra-rugged. Buddy’s trademark is its emphasis on reliability and quality. Vitapruf’s involvement with Buddy extends back to 1985 with its Polyplax PVC coated fabrics and polyester materials. The new coated fabric produced by Vitapruf was selected because of its robustness yet lightness in weight.
The jackets, which have a twin-bag construction, use polyurethane coated 1100 decitex texturised Nylon which gives maximum strength, abrasion and puncture resistance. This is combined with a high quality anti-bacterial treated polyurethane inner bag, the material is compounded to withstand extremes of heat and cold. After manufacture each jacket is tested 100% airtight which gives the added security of guaranteed buoyancy at the surface.
